This guy is confusing me?!?

Well he started texting me and we texted for like a week. Then we went to this church camp and he called me cute. But it seemed like he liked me but then during the rest of the week it seemed like he would rather be with my other friends. My friends and his friends always hang out so we hang out. We all went to a movie and later during the movie he came and sat by me but I think it was to talk to his friends... Anyway my friends are more outgoing towards guys than me. And I doubt he is shy to me because he is talkative to his other girl friends.. How do I get him to talk to me more? Does he like me or will we just be friends?
