Shiloh 1 & Shiloh 2 movies?

In the 1997 movie Shiloh, the main character is a kid who is hiding a dog from his abusive master. They made a sequal in 1999, and the main character owns the dog. Is the main character in the first shiloh movie played by the same kid as in shiloh 2? I was wondering. Because they look awful different.
